ASBESTOS AWARENESS (CONSTRUCTION) TRAINING

DESIGNED FOR

Asbestos awareness training for Contractors and others in the Construction Industry whose work involves interaction with the fabric and services of buildings that may contain asbestos containing materials. It is based on risk management materials produced by the HSE, with additional legal and practical guidance.  It will ensure that duty holders are aware of their responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) 2002.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course trainees will be aware of:

a) their legal duties;

b) the consequences of exposure to asbestos;

c) what materials may contain asbestos and what they look like.

d) the action to take before starting any work in a building that may contain asbestos;

e) what action to take when they discover a material that may contain asbestos;

COURSE CONTENT

• Setting the Scene - Asbestos Facts;
• The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 (CAWR);
• Awareness of the different types of Asbestos;
• Identifying where to find Asbestos;
• Safe Working Practices.

COURSE DURATION

This is a 1 day course. We can however also organise an abbreviated 1/2 day course for companies which can be held at our training facilities or in house.

COURSE FEE

£165 + VAT (£193.88) per person incl. lunch, light refreshments and course material.

Our in-house training courses start at £50 + VAT (£58.75) per person with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 people per course.
