AVOIDING UNDERGROUND SERVICES TRAINING

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course trainees will be able to:

a) how to gather and interpret information on underground services;

b) what types of survey can be undertaken and what equipment to use;

c) how to avoid underground services when undertaking excavation;

d) how to undertake a survey using a cable and pipe locator.

COURSE CONTENT

• Legislative requirements;
• HSG 47 Avoiding Danger for Underground Services;
• Gathering and interpreting information on services from utilities and landowners;
• Types of survey and survey equipment;
• Use of cable and pipe locators;
• Safe excavation practice;
• Practical exercise.

COURSE DURATION
