DSE ASSESSOR TRAINING

DESIGNED FOR

Anyone who needs to perform a suitable and sufficient DSE assessment of a workstation in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the trainee will be able to effectively carry out and report on basic workstation assessments in line with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.

COURSE CONTENT

• Definition of ergonomics;
• Summary of DSE Regulations;
• Legal requirements of assessments;
• Common hazards and solutions;
• Designing a questionnaire;
• Co-ordinating and undertaking assessments;
• Setting up the workstation correctly;
• Eye and eye sight testing;
• Environment – lighting, air flow and humidity;
• RSI, Eye Strain and WRULD;
• Assessing laptops and other portable devices;
• Practical exercise.
