MANUAL HANDLING AWARENESS

DESIGNED FOR

Manual handling training aimed at those carrying out manual handling tasks at work. By identifying and assessing the risk delegates can identify ways to avoid the risk by mechanisation or reduce the risk by the use of safe handling techniques.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course trainees will :

a) be able to identify and assess hazardous manual handling operations;

b) know how to reduce the risk of hazardous manual handling operations;

c) know how to use Kinetic handling techniques to reduce the risk when handling;

• Accident statistics;
• The dangers of careless and unskilled handling methods;
• The effects of manual handling;
• Hazard identification and Risk Assessment;
• The use of mechanical handling aids;
• Kinetic handling method.
